To call Jenny McCarthy unusual or unique might be an understatement of her for she is one of the few “Playboy” Playmates to actually have a career beyond the pages of the centerfold. Now that may not sound like much of an accomplishment but consider the statistics – “Playboy” has been around for over 50 years and in that time only a handful of women have ever had any sort of acting career afterwards. Many famous actresses have graced the pages of “Playboy” in an effort to revive a waning career but very few have risen from obscurity to become famous via the men’s magazine.

Jenny McCarthy was born on November 1, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois into a middle-class Irish/Catholic family. Her mother was a beautician and her father a steel-mill worker who dedicated their lives to raising their four daughters as well as possible. Jenny was accepted into Southern Illinois University where she studied nursing, but after two years and no more money, Jenny left college to pursue a career in modeling. After begin told she was too voluptuous to be a run-way model, Jenny sent her pictures to Playboy Magazine and was promptly offered to become “Playmate of the Month” for October 1993. The very next year, Jenny was crowned “Playmate of the Year” and set out for Los Angeles, CA. to seek out more fame and fortune as an actress.
 

At first, Ms. McCarthy ran into some stumbling blocks because she had posed for Playboy, but finally convinced MTV to hire her as the host of a game show called “Singled Out”. Jenny was the only bright spot of the show; her charisma and wit matched with her undeniable beauty propelled the show to instant success. MTV was so impressed they offered Jenny a $500,000 contract to become one of their VJ’s and let her develop her won show. Even NBC gave her a show called “The Jenny McCarthy Show”, but neither lasted very long. Ms. McCarthy has starred in a little less than ten movies (none with any real success) as well as guest shots on several popular TV series over the past few years.

Jenny McCarthy recently divorced her husband of six years, John Mallory Asher, and they have one child together. Currently she is not dating any one and is comfortably adjusting to the single life.

So, why is Jenny McCarthy so popular? What is it that makes her so memorable? She was once touted as the next “Lucille Ball” because of her comedic timing, wit and comical facial expressions. The fact is Jenny doesn’t take herself seriously and is willing and able to play on her dubious way of reaching stardom. She has discovered an area of entertainment severely lacking in the world – the beautiful comedienne/actress. The distribution of the film will be handed over to Lionsgate and it will be directed by the famous director, Charles Scribner. The movie is about a small town sheriff who must protect a federal witness. Mc Carthy plays the lead role of Larry’s girlfriend. The former Playboy girl ahs decided to educate the parents and teachers about this dreadful disorder. She says “I want our children to start each day in silent meditation. I want organic cafetarias, outdoor class sessions…I want it all.” The 34 year old mother has undergone lot many struggles because of her son’s autism. She will now pen them down for the public in her book ‘Louder Than Words: A Mother’s Journey in Healing Autism”. According to the Touch Magazine, Jenny says “It is a heartbreaking story about a serious health issue”.
